In this lab multidisciplinary research will be undertaken to solve the many problems that have plagued the education sector of Pakistan over the past many decades. Major activities include development of instructional applications following a formal and non-formal pedagogical approach, innovative use of technology to address problems of learning, and enhancing skillset of teachers by conducting trainings and workshops in ICT-intensive pedagogies, blended and flipped learning.
Ongoing Research Projects
1- Prison Based Informal Learning through Speed Literacy Program and its Impact on their Psychological Outcomes
2- Developing an Interactive Learning Environment (ILE) for museums and exploring its impact on learners’ Interest in History
3- Measuring the impact of Open Education Resources (OERs) on students’ learning outcomes in Grade 4 science.
4- Enhancing teachers’ ICT pedagogy skills using GeoGebra and evaluating their impact on student achievement in Mathematics in Grade7
5- Implementation of multi-sensory instruction for dyslexic students in an inclusive classroom setting
6- Scale up of ‘Chotay Sciencedaan’ – an interactive learning and assessment application for Grade 5 science curriculum
7- Collaboration with HeadStart School Kuri Campus – Picture Autism program, where MS ITE students will be involved in development of apps for autistic students – Sep 2016 onwards
